Back in 1973 two school friends started a Pirate radio station above a shop in Muswell Hill Broadway. The equipment was basic and
they were both dedicated. After 2 months disaster struck the GPO as it was confiscated their equipment. That was not the end many
friends asked about them to DJ at their Parties.
The cost of purchasing Disco Equipment from Squires in Kentish Town was soon recouped and suddenly they were an overnight
success. Them days of asking mum and dad to drive them to and from gigs are long gone as are the fal ranger dj deck and the
infinity screens with traffic lights.
1974 came both left school. One went into the Army the other went into his Family`s Dress making Business. Whilst in the Army
One learned to play Drums.
In 1977 when he came back from tour of duty played drums in several punk bands and DJ`d in between at gigs.
The old style music distributor could not cope with the demand for this new music this was when a pressing distribution and sales
deal was struck with a major label. The demand for mobile disco was growing and effective advertising led to up to 30 sets of
equipment and 30 djs all working for us.
The early 80s took their toll a bad recession , venues cutting back , lack of gigs, and time to rethink take stock and plan the future.
Reliable Disco Limited was then formed as a family Business which it still is now. Living in Herts and working out of London gave the
edge on having DJs in both areas. The Mobile Disco business grew and then in 1987 heavy investment in the music business did
not pay off.
Learning from this concentration was made on obtaining regular venues and Customers for the mobile disco business. This continued
and the Karaoke came and went then all of a sudden the Karaoke was back.
This flourished and we had the luxury of employing a PR Company, from 1996 to 2001 this was hit by another bad investment in the
We learned again and then just concentrated on the mobile disco and Karaoke Company.
The World was changing, CDs were starting to become less as would be djs used computers for their gigs downloading music from
For the first time being a DJ and having a set of music to play no longer was special.
Now up to date the Mobile Disco Business has evolved into a Karaoke Hire and Disco Equipment Hire Company. The mobile
disco and karaoke business still has djs.
The latest equipment is frightening with powered USB speakers meaning no need for a DJ just inset your USB stick and you have an
instant party. No computer or anything else.
